Hometown History
I come from Shandong province. Shandong province, with another name “Lu”, is an important coastal province in East China. Located on the lower reaches of the Yellow River, it borders on the Bohai Sea and Yellow Seas, and overlooks the Korean Peninsula and the Japan Archipelago across a vast stretch of sea. The province has a total area of 156,000 square kilometers (about 60,235 square miles) and a total population of over 90 million.
Jinan, the capital of Shandong Province, which is located south of Tai Mountain.
Jinan is a prosperous and long-history city which is famous for springs. So she is also called ”the city of springs” .Jinan has three major scenic spots of the city. They are the Baotu Spring, Daming Lake and Qianfo Mountain,Jinan has a combination of classic and modern.
The city of Qingdao is in the east of Shandong Province. It is famous for the blue sea and beautiful beaches. It is a wonderful place for summer holidays. Tens of thousands of people from all parts of the country visit Qingdao every summer. They walk along the beach, go swimming or do some shopping. We can see fine view of the city.Qingdao is rich in seafood, including fish, prawns, shellfish and sea weed as well as local foods from other areas.
Dongying has the second largest oilfield in China.A century ago, the city was still largely intact; it only had the marsh and sea.But now it is a modern city.Here the Yellow River into the sea.
YanTai is a beautiful place.It lies in the east of Shandong Province.It surrounded by green mountains.There is no heavy traffic in YanTai,and the air here is very fresh.So we can often breathe fresh air in YanTai.
In the past YanTai was poor,and people led a hard life.They couldn’t afford to send their children to school.But great changes have taken place in YanTai in the past twenty years.Many families don't have color TV sets,but also telephones ,fridges, computers and so on.New roads, houses, schools hospitals have been built.People in YanTai are working hard for a better life.
Besides,there is a special fruit-coconut.The juice of coconut is very sweet.We all love it.So YanTai has another name.It comes from coconut.It’s the city of coconut.
Summeron Mount YanTai is very cool.It can' be called a huge natural air-conditioner in summer. Winter here is nice,too.Heavy snow falls every year.There is a popular saying:"Mount YanTai in summer is green like a clear fountain,and in winter is white like a white jade."
At last,I want to tell you that ShanDong is developing very quickly,people here are friendly.If you come here,they will welcome you with their delicious dishes.ShanDong is a beautiful place with resplendent sunshine,nice beaches,delicious food,famous scenic spots,friendly people.They all hope that you can come here.
